presents the RDS 3 Year Old Loose Performance Qualifier on 19th June, 2008.

Terms & Conditions.

Entries : They will be taken on the Day @ a fee of E25.

Note : A score for each competitior will be available at the end of the day & the top 4 competitors will go forward to the final.

Vetting : Horses that successfully qualify for the final must produce a vet cert from a member of the RDS Veterinary Panel dated no ea\rlier than 21 days prior to the date of competition.

The Final : It will take place on Thursday 7th August in RDS Simmonscourt.

Conformation Phase/Assessment.

All horses will be evaluated on conformation & a refection made on how their conformation will affect their career as a show jumper, they will be given a mark out of 10. The conformation assessment will take place before the jumping phase. The owner/handler will be required to stabd the horse up for inspection by the judges, the judges will then ask the handler to walk the horse away & trot back at least once.

Jumping Phase : (approx heights of fences.)

Fence 1 - Vertical - height 0.5m ----> 7 metres to Fence 2

Fence 2 - Vertical - height 0.8m ----> 7.3m to Fence 3

Fence 3 - Vertical/Oxer - height 0.9m to 1.12m (spread - 1.50m)

All fences will have strong ground lines.

The arena stewards will ensure that each horse is given the best possible opportunity to display himself; if the horse makes a mistake at any stage he will be given to opportunity to repeat the exercise.

Judging.

Judging at qualifiers & at the final will be marked as follows ;

10 Points for Conformation; 40 Points for Jumping & technique; 20 Points for Potential = Total 70

Tack : Horses should be presentes in a simple bridle or a chiffney, if required. No hind boots or bandages are permitted.

Prize Fund in Final :

1st- E5,000; 2nd E3,000; 3rd-E2,000; 4th-E1,500; 5th-E1,000; 6th-E750; 7th- E600; 8th- E500; 9th-E400; 10th -E250.

3 Year Old Future Competition Horse Qualifier on Thursday 26th June.

Fees & Veterinary Certification as per class above.

The Final : Will be held on Wednesday 6th august, the confomation assessment will take place in Ring 1 with Phase 2, the jumping assessment taking place adjacent to the International Warm-up Pocket.

Phase 1 - Conformation& Movement

Conformation & Movement traits will be assessed as an indicationof future performance & ability of the horse to stay sound in competition. (During the Final horses will be presented using the 'Triangle Format' for the assessment of conformation & movement in walk & trot. Dimensions 30m x 20m x 20m with a track outside of 3.5m widthto show the horses on.)

Phase 2 - Jumping & Movement.

The horse wll be allowed display themselves once in canter around the enclosed arena. This canter will be part of the movement evaluation.

A Grid consisting of 3 obstacles will be set up. Horses will be allowed do 2 warm up rounds, not marked, the 3rd round will then be scored.

Fence Heights (approx)

Fence 1 - Vertical - Height 0.6m ----> 7m to Fence 2

Fence 2 - Vertical - Height 0.85m -----> 7.3m to Fence 3

Fence 3 - Vertical/Oxer- Height front pole 0.95m; Oxer front pole 0.95m, back pole 1.05m, spread 1.05m

Judging.

Judging at the qualifiers & the final will be marked as follows ;

20 Points for Conformation; 20 Points for Walk & Trot; 20 Points for Canter; 20 Points for Jumping; 10 Points for Temperament; 10 Points for Star Quaility.

Tack & Prize Fund as per previous competition.

Schooling Day on June 12th @ Dohyle House Stud will have the identical fences, distances & arena as the Qualifiers on the 19th & 26th.
