Pedigree.

Defi Platiere’s pedigree is one of the most notable in Selle Francais breeding. He was bred by the Leforestier Family of the famous Platiere Stud in Normandy, France. This Stud has produced some of the top stock in France for many years. The ‘Platiere’ prefix can be seen in many of the french pedigrees. Defi Platiere was bought from the Platiere Stud as a 4 yr old by Mr. Marrioni ITA & has compete from his yard since then with Vincenzo Chimirri.

Sire Line : Type D’Elle

Type D’Elle is by the famous Narcos who is one of the top sires in the world. Type d’Elle is the sire of numerous International Horses, including Dismene de Baugy (Herve Godignon), Elan du Logis (Antoine Katz), Hansel de Bremoy (Juan Riva Francos ESP), Elite de la Logue (Aurora Bartolazzi ITA), Indian du Utah (Alberto Michan), Iva Tu’du Rouet, Fiona des Champs (ISO 166), Doris de Halles ISO157.

Narcos compete in the Seol Olympics & was a regular competitor on the International Circuit. In 1991 he won a European Young Riders. He holds a record of 2.25m for Puissance jumping. He is now the sire of top class showjumpers & stallions world wide.

Dam Line : Octoile Platiere.

Octoile Platiere is by the sire Nankin. This famous French horse is the sire of numerous stars including Uriel, Kouglof 11. He is the dam sire of Dirka, the dam of Aigon Rouge, Quidam De Revel, Quidam de Fran & Vallon Rouge, all top French Horses. Nankin apperars in most of the top performance pedigrees in France.

Octoile Platiere is the dam of Beau Reve Platiere, Defi Platiere, Espoir Platiere (Jumped in French Grand Finals @ 4,5 & 6 yr old), Grace Platiere, Fee Toile Platiere, Itoile Platiere (Grand Finalist @ 6yr old), Kopine Platiere (Grand Finalist at 4 & 5 yrs old). This line is maintained as the backbone of the Platiere Stud, as many of their mares still carry these genes. Beau Reve Platiere (x Grand Veneur) is standing with the National Stud in France. His stock are just coming of age and are now coming into the International Circuit including Ilviens de Meilles (Oliver Guillon), Irinie du Tulipier, Joyau Du Manoir, Enzo de Reverdy, Hermes de la Lande & Grimalkin.

2nd Dam : Etoile x Tanael x Ibrahim), is the dam of Jeune Etoile (ISO 125), L’Etkisse Platiere (ISO 160), Pirate Platiere (ISO 155), Sisi Platiere (dam of National Stud Stallion El Paso Platiere (ISO 160)), Toile Platiere & the legendary National Stud Stallion Nidor Platiere. Nidor Platiere gave 23 years of service to the French Breeders & has over 70 horses listed with ISO Index Values higher than 135, He has over 500 stock competing at various levels of Showjumping. The dam line of Tanael x Ibrahim is one of the most prolific lines in Selle Francais. ‘Nidor’ is the sire of Camelias (Jean Marc Nicolas FR), Felin Nocturne, Havane de Talma, Hidor de b’Neville, Hotesse de Rosarie, Istis de le Herbage ISO 160 (Florian Angot), Joy de Talma ISO 150(Frederic Lagrange FR), Tidor de Nuriat, Sultan de Melime ISO 152, Salva D’Avegres ISO 171, to name but a few. Performance.

Defi Platiere has competed at top International Level with Vincenzo Chimirri until his retirement after the Athens Olympics in 2004. He was produced slowly as a young horse & jumped his first National Grand Prix at the age of 7. He competed on the Italian National Grand Prix Circuit & became a member of the Italian Team in 1999. He competed on Nations Cup Teams at Rotterdam (3rd in the 1.60m Grand Prix, 2001), Hickstead, Lummen (2nd in 1.50m Grand Prix, 01), Ikast (2nd in 1.50m Grand Prix, 01), Dublin (2nd in the Aga Khan), Aachen (8th in the 1.60m Grand Prix), St. Gallen (7th in 1`.60m Grand Prix, 01), La Baule & also competed in the Grand Prix Classes at Milan (1st in 1.45m Class), Modena/ Pavarotti International(6th in 1.60m Grand Prix, 01), Rome (6th in 1.50m Class), Vincenza (4th in 1.50m Grand Prix, 02), & Verona (7th in 1.60m Grand Prix, 2001).

Defi Platiere & Vincenzo Chimirri were members of the Samsung Nations Cup Final Winners at Donauseschingen, on the 22nd of August, 2002. They also represented their country in the Athens Olympics, 2004.

One of the highlights of his career was winning the San Patrignano Grand Prix on 25th July, 2004, just before leaving for the Olympics.

“To the delight of the 5,000-strong crowd, Vincenzo Chimirri fought off some tugh opposition to lay claim to the Vincenzo Muccioli Challenge, the Grand Prix of San Patrignano. He was only the second Italian rider to do so since the inception of this popular show, now in its eight year. The fact that he defeated the likes of Michel Robert of France & Brazil’s superstar Rodrigo Pessoa must have gladdened the hearts of Italy’s showjumping hierarchy. Chimirri’s victory, the most significant of his career, was achieved with Askol Defi Platiere, one of nine horses through to the jump off” quote from L’annee Hippique, 2004/2005. Michel Robert was second & Rodrigo Pessoa came in third.
